Activity 2: Using CareerVillage.org

This is Activity #2 in the Maximum Impact Activity Sequence. It is expected to take 25 minutes. The goal is to get signed up on CareerVillage.org and familiar with what you can do on the site.

You will need:

1. Computer with internet access

Do Now**:** Create your CareerVillage Account

Step 1: Watch the video above highlighting the basic features of the site

Step 2: Go to CareerVillage.org and click 'Sign Up' at the top right corner

Step 3: Create an account as a Student. You will be guided through a quick onboarding process where we'll ask for some basic information like your name, location, grade, and you can choose your CareerVillage avatar!

Step 4: If you have one, add your educator's invite code. If your teacher hasn't provided you with one, don't worry - you can always add this later.

Step 5: If you haven't already joined your School Page or Organization's group on CareerVillage, try to join it now. If your instructor gave you a direct link, follow that. Otherwise, search this page to find your school or this page to find your group.

Step 6: Ask your first career-related question (shortcut to the question asking page)- it's okay if it's simple, you'll have plenty of time to perfect the art of asking questions this semester!

Step 7: Explore a few hashtags that catch your attention and read answers to other students' questions.

Step 8: Add to your Reflection Log for Activity 2 and send your instructor your reflection (usually a short written note of 1-5 sentences in the method instructed by your teacher) answering the question "How has this activity changed you think about your career?" Use whichever method the teacher has specified.
